TRIP LENGTHS
All trip lengths are figured as traveling 6 to 8 miles per day for the minimum number of days. This means approximately 2 hours of travel in the morning and about 3 hours of travel in the afternoon.

Minnesota Routes

1.) Lake 1 to White Iron # of Portages: 10 Longest Portage: 140 Rods Last Day Number of Days: 3 – 5
Fishing: Good northern, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass
Comments: All portages, but the 1/2 mile one, are quite short. Good Wildlife. Route goes with current. Scenic route with many rapids. Route can be extended into Gabbro and Bald Eagle with excellent walleye and northern fishing.

3.) Nina Moose River to Fall Lake # of Portages: 16 Longest Portage: 380 Rods Number of Days: 6 – 10
Fishing: Excellent walleye, bass, northern particularly in Crooked Lake.
Comments: Beautiful waterfalls along the way. Excellent walleye, bass, northern pike fishing. Tow service available to or from Back Bay Portage.

4.) Mudro to Nina Moose River # of Portages: 18 Longest Portage: 177 Rods Number of Days: 6 – 8
Fishing: Excellent walleye, bass, northern particularly in Crooked Lake.
Comments: Beautiful waterfalls along the way. Excellent walleye, bass, northern pike fishing. Cuts the 1 mile portage out at Upper Basswood Falls.

5.) Lake 1 to Snowbank # of Portages: 19 Longest Portage: 179 Rods Number of Days: 5 – 7
Fishing: Brook and rainbow trout lake on route. Good walleye, bass, and northern fishing.
Comments: Easy trip of 5 to 7 days with no big water to paddle on.

6.) Isabella Lake to White Iron or Gabbro # of Portages: 11 Longest Portage: 190 Rods Number of Days: 4 – 6
Fishing: Excellent walleye, northern on way.
Comments: Good route to paddle for two days – spend two days fishing for walleye, northern, then two days paddle back to our base.

7.) Hog Creek to Isabella Lake # of Portages: 11 Longest Portage: 33 Rods Number of Days: 3 – 5
Fishing: Excellent walleye and northern during June, July and even into August.
Comments: Good wildlife along the way. Route travels with current. Portages are short.

2.) Kawishiwi Lake to White Iron # of Portages: 18 Longest Portage: 181 Rods Last Day Number of Days: 6 – 8
Fishing: Excellent walleye and northern.
Comments: Seldom used route. Has lake with sand beaches. Good Wildlife. Indian painting on cliffs – 200-300 years old. Trip can be shortened by starting or ending at Lake I.

QUETICO PARK TRIPS (Canada) (Early Reservations Necessary)

C-1.) Moose Lake to Prairie Portage; North Bay to Sarah # of Portages: 21 Longest Portage: 340 Rods Number of Days: 6 – 8
Fishing: Excellent walleye, northern, bass.
Comments: More true wilderness area with no box latrines or fire grates. Excellent fishing. (Especially Smallmouth Bass.) Tow service available to Prairie Portage and Washington Island.

C-2.) Moose Lake through Silence Chain back to Moose Lake # of Portages: 19 Longest Portage: 193 Rods Number of Days: 6 – 7
Fishing: Excellent walleye, northern, bass, lake trout.
Comments: More true wilderness area with no box latrines or fire grates. Excellent fishing. Tow service available to Prairie Portage.

C-3.) Moose Lake-through Basswood Lake and Crooked Lake to Argo, Darky Area # of Portages: 17 Longest Portage: 340 Rods Number of Days: 8 – 10
Fishing: Outstanding walleye, northern, lake trout, and smallmouth bass fishing.
Comments: One of the best fishing areas in Quetico Park for lake trout, walleye, big northern, smallmouth and largemouth bass. Beautiful waterfalls along the way. Tow service available to Back Bay Portage.

C-4.) Clay Lake to Kawnipi Lake
Fly-in
# of Portages: 8 Longest Portage: 193 Rods Number of Days: 7 – 10
Fishing: Outstanding walleye, bass, lake trout and northern pike.
Comments: Excellent bass, walleye, lake trout and northern pike fishing on Bird Lake. Fast launch service available to and from Prairie portage and Washington Island.

C-5.) Nym Lake to Moose Lake # of Portages: Longest Portage: Number of Days:
Fishing: The magnificent waterfalls in Keats, Russell, and Chatterton Lakes plus the fabulous walleye, bass, and northern fishing make this a memorable trip.
Comments: Each summer we outfit guests who want to paddle the entire north to south area of Quetico Park. This is an outstanding trip and goes through some of the most beautiful parts of Quetico.

C-6.) Fly-in or Fast Launch, paddle-out trip; Lac La Croix Ranger Station to Moose River # of Portages: 16 Longest Portage: 160 Rods Number of Days: 6 – 10
Fishing: Outstanding walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and lake trout.
Comments: You're just 4 portages and about 15 miles away from camping in Darky Lake. Outstanding walleye, northern, bass and lake trout fishing. Pick-up service from Nina Moose River means you can spend more time fishing in Quetico Park. Option to fly back to our dock when trip is over.

C-7.) Nym lake to Nina Moose River # of Portages: 26 Longest Portage: 167 Rods Number of Days: 7 – 10
Fishing: Outstanding smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and lake trout.
Comments: Permits are usually available. Enables you to paddle from north end of Quetico Park.
